The Micheaux Award & Film Labs

The Micheaux Award & Film Labs (MAFL) are designed to promote creative and professional development for filmmakers of color through three initiatives:

The Micheaux Award which distributes funds annually to filmmakers of color.

Micheaux Film Labs, which facilitates year-round educational and networking opportunities to strengthen the Arkansas-based creative communities of color.

Micheaux Social events bring communities together to celebrate and strengthen support for creatives of color. Building infrastructural resource networks to support Arkansas creatives of color will generate opportunities for skillset expansion, entrepreneurial growth and sustainable success.

*From ideation to implementation, students created and produced a complete season of episodes for the* ***MAFL Nurture the Narrative Podcast****. Listen as TAP students share their personal experiences from high school in their hometowns.*
